Jmid was founded by Jane McConnell, an accomplished interior designer, with a career history that showcases broad local and international experience. Jane has built a strong reputation in the design industry after being involved in a wide range of projects from commercial fitout and base building, multi and individual residential through to hospitality, hotel, retail, eductation and large scale retail.
An accomplished Designer and Project Manager, Jane’s career history showcases broad local and international experience. Her expertise in Interior Design is bolstered by her strong business acumen. She holds a Bachelor of Built Environments (Interior Design) with Queensland University of Technology, and a Bachelor of International Business with Griffith University.
Jane has travelled extensively throughout Asia, Europe and North Africa, and has worked and studied in the UK, which has fostered a worldly outlook, an appreciation for different ways of life, and a curious and responsive approach to design. She views each design as an opportunity to tap into diverse contexts and perspectives to craft meaningful places with distinct character. Her adventurous nature fuels a love of variety, as evidenced in her wide-ranging project experience across multiple sectors, locations and building types.
Jane is energised by delivering projects that are celebrated by clients and users. She skilfully balances their needs with a sophisticated understanding of design principles and the practicalities of project delivery. Jane considers how all facets of a design work to support a cohesive and inviting building experience.
